Extreme Weather

The news continues to inform us of severe weather conditions around the world. Vivid images and reports of hurricanes and typhoons, tsunamis and rogue waves, droughts and wildfires, and inundation of coastal areas by torrential rains, mudslides, storm surge, record tides, and sea level rise are familiar to us all. The impact on natural resources, coastal communities, and human dislocation and life can be devastating. How do CO2 emissions or global warming affect our weather? Is there a correlation between our behavior and these phenomena? How can we protect ourselves from the destructive effect?
